Panu has been active in international communities. He chaired CHI conference in 2003 together with Gilbert Cockton, and as a strong proponent of the role of interaction design in product and service development. He is an inventor in tens of patents, including one that covers kinetic scrolling for touch screen UIs.
Panu’s passion is to create flawless design stories. Every design decision must have a reason, that can be traced back to the business targets of the company providing the product or service.
Although the designs are still confidential at the time of UX LX, I will present insights about how to lead the design effort in such a complex design project. I will discuss topics related to design direction, process, tools, and people. The findings will be condensed to a dozen practical insights that will help and inspire people who work in design direction role in large projects, and it will help designers in such projects to understand better the point of view of their design leaders.
